I first met Mr Kalairajah about 10 years ago. He was not keen to carry out surgery until absolutely necessary and leaving the final decision up to me. When I was ready to undergo knee replacement surgery he was most supportive and arrangements were soon made to admit me to Spire hospital. The operation was successful, my hospital care following was first class. I have had a follow up appointment with Mr Kalairajah and again his care and advice was excellent. I am very grateful to Mr Kalairajah and would highly recommend him to anyone needing his type of expertise.

I had a full knee replacement in July 2019. Mr Kalairajah is excellent, with both his patient care and surgeon skills before and after surgery. He explained the full procedure before the operation including all the risks and what I could expect after the operation, so I was able to make an informative decision before having the operation done. The operation was a complete success and the scar from the operation is very neat. I'm now pain free and I can fully bend my knee again, no longer walking with no limp or stiff leg as I had done for over 10 years. I feel I have been given back 20 years of an active life. Thanks to Mr Kalairajah and the excellent care of Spires Harpenden Hospital.

I had my new hip replacement on my right hip 6 weeks ago by Mr. Kalairajah. He had operated 3 years ago on my left hip with a new hip replacement. On both occasions I had the operations on the NHS at Spire Hospital, Harpenden. I cannot praise the care and attention I received from both my consultant and the hospital. Everything went so well and I was treated with care and consideration throughout. Mr. Kalairajah is an excellent surgeon and I cannot recommend him highly enough. It is wonderful to be out of pain and be able to continue with my life as I would wish.

I have had total knee replacements on both my knees at the Spire, Harpenden. The first one 18 months ago and the second 6 months ago. The treatment I received both times from the initial consultations through to the operations and after care, could not be bettered. I have now been signed off and now have my life back - pain free and able to walk my dogs and compete in obedience with them. I had the first knee operated on privately and the second was done on the NHS the treatment received both times was no different.
